:: Calendula salve for hands hard at work in the soil and baby knees busy with the work of crawling.
:: This lonesome duck who is often found lounging about in our pond, napping on the shore, or fraternizing a bit with the chickens. This duck who isn't afraid of me! I have officially declared him our wild domestic duck.
:: Our Shepherd mutts, who have learned quickly how to help us swiftly round up the goats into their barn at night for safekeeping. They are a poor man's sheepdogs, but very good ones at that.
Do you have a few favorite things right now, too?

The autumn colours over here at the moment! I don't want it to end!
ReplyDeleteGlorious colours on that duck!Your pup photos always put a smile on my face!Myfavourite thing at the moment would be our beautiful Autumn weather, crisp blue skies and warm sunshine...and yet still able to rug up at night without freezing! Also my girls' sense of humour...all 3 so different...yet able to make me smile x
ReplyDeleteFavorite things? Hmmm
ReplyDelete~ cool mornings

What a handsome duck! I can't possibly pick any less than 10 favourite things right now - but my top of the list is having my son home from 6 months in Australia - we had a family meal last night ALL TOGETHER :)
ReplyDeleteCalendula salve is truly a wonderful thing! I'm glad the duck has found someplace to call "home!" So, what's the secret in getting the dogs to help round up the goats in the evening? My dog just looks at me like "Yeah, right Mom!" LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if there's a trick to it, but somehow we've managed what I would call a "controlled chase" ;)
DeleteDo you use fresh or dried Calendula petals? I'd love to try making it.
ReplyDeleteMia
Hi Mia, I use dried. Also, I've found the consistency of the salve is best when I keep it refrigerated.
DeleteLonely duck! WANTING girlfriend ASAP :)
ReplyDeleteDid you make the salve? I'd love the recipe!
ReplyDeleteHi Jules, Yes! If you click on the words "Calendula salve" in the post, it should link you to the recipe I use.
DeleteThose are all good things, Jamie. Very good. Don't you love the iridescence of the mallards head?! So lovely.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm....three things I am loving right now:
-my new lawn mower (an awesome Fiskars reel mower that we got as a housewarming gift)
-Yellowstone National Park
-baby spinach from the garden
Have a great day!
